Privacy Policy

ReviewPing helps local businesses ask their clients for Google reviews. This page explains what personal information we handle, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: hello@reviewping.co.
Two kinds of people, two roles
- Business owners who sign up: we decide how your account information is used, so we're responsible for it.
- Clients of those businesses who receive a review request: the business gave us your name and number and decides when to ask you, so the business is responsible for that information. We process it on the business's behalf and only to send its review requests.
What we collect
- Business owners: email address, a securely hashed password or your Google account ID if you sign in with Google, the business you claim (its Google place ID, the name you confirm, country and time zone).
- Clients: first name and mobile number (entered by the business), when a request was sent, whether the link was opened and whether you went on to Google, any private feedback you choose to write, and your request to stop receiving messages.
We never see or store payment card details, and we don't sell personal information.
How we use it
- To run accounts and sign you in.
- To send a business's review request and, if it isn't opened, one reminder a few days later.
- To show the business how its requests are doing and any private feedback.
- To honour opt-outs: once you tap “Don't send me review requests”, that business can't message you again through us.
Reviews themselves are written on Google, not on ReviewPing. What you post there is covered by Google's own privacy policy.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run ReviewPing:
- Google Cloud (hosting, in Belgium) and Google Maps Platform (business listings and ratings).
- Neon (database, in Germany).
- SMS providers that deliver the text messages, currently BulkSMS.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Dodo Payments, which processes subscription payments as merchant of record. Card details go straight to them; we only receive your subscription status.
Some of these providers process data outside your country. We use providers that protect it under contract and apply recognised safeguards for international transfers.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep business owners signed in, and a short-lived one during Google sign-in. No advertising or analytics cookies. The website reviews widget sets no cookies.
How long we keep it
Account and client information is kept while the business's account is open. When an account is closed, we delete its information within 30 days, apart from anything we must keep by law. Opt-outs are kept so we can keep honouring them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under South Africa's POPIA, the EU and UK GDPR, or US state laws), you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how it's used. Clients can also opt out with the link in any message. Email hello@reviewping.co. If you're a client, we'll pass your request to the business it concerns and help them deal with it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so if something goes wrong we'll tell affected people and authorities as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and tell business owners by email.
